I’ve been listening to the many testimonies shared by our members during the early morning prayers and my faith has been built stronger really. I mean, listening to the mind blowing testimonies gave me a different perspective in spite of the lockdown and I just knew I had to get on the winning side.
So during the program that we had with our international president about three weeks ago, when the call was made to raise 1million dollars for the gospel, especially with the series Pastor has been taking us on lately, I just knew I had to be a part of that, even though I had no liquid cash at the time. My desire was so strong that I was confident I was going to give for it.
That evening after the program I got a call from an architect friend of mine about a quotation I submitted some days back. I’m into steel fabrication, by the way. He just asked me how much it’ll cost to get the job started and I said the money for the materials and 50% of my fee. Now when he first called me to go check out the job, I just did it out of the respect I have for him, because the company in question has an habit of wasting your time to quote for a job they were never ready to do. I just went there, checked things out and when they asked me for the bill, I just got a sheet of paper and listed what was needed and left. So unmoved was I about the prospect that I didn’t even bother to have my own copy of the bill! In fact, I had to go back to the company and take a picture of the bill from the manager after I was mobilized for the job, because I didn’t even remember how much I had quoted! But before I knew it, he requested for my account details, which he forward to the owner of the company. And within minutes I had received an alert!
Now, here’s the thing: it was the biggest single alert since the beginning of this year! I was, like, wow! The words of our pastor is really coming to pass! But by the time I had ordered for the materials and settled some really pressing bills, it almost became a drag to give for the 1million dollars project, because not much was left. But I said to myself, “I hear to do” and so I gave. As I was just rounding up work at the site this past Friday, I came out to notice 3 missed calls from an unknown number. I returned the call and the person on the other end just said to me, ‘Are you Billy?’ I said yes sir. Billy is what I’m generally known as, by the way. Then he said, ‘I got your number from someone you did a job for, can you meet me at my site?’. He gave me the direction and I went over. We discussed and agreed on the price and before I knew it, he transferred 100% of the cost to my account right there! Now, this is someone who has never met me before, doesn’t know my office or done any deal with me… but he just trusted me to the extent of giving the total amount for the job. Today he called again and has given me go ahead to start another phase. He’s sending me the cash tomorrow!
Essentially, this lockdown period has been my most productive season since the beginning of this year, and just like our president keeps repeating, we can do even greater things during this period.
I just want to thank God for what He’s doing with The Haven Nation, especially at this time and to also thank our president, Pastor Ekele, who’s been encouraging us and teaching us to be doers of the word. I’m so grateful to be a member of this great nation… I know we’re on unto greater things, and I’m rightly positioned to make the best of all that God has prepared for us, especially during this period.
