I am even more blessed to be sharing this testimony on our dear Deacon Geri’s birthday. Thank you so much, Sir, for being such a blessing to me. I love you so much.
Early in the year, while at work, a mistake was made with a transaction we were working on that would have cost my company $2.5Million. I was leading the legal team but I didn’t ask all the questions I was supposed to. When it was time for us to be paid, we realized the mistake and what was due to us was $500k. We went back and forth with the other party, all this while I was praying that I would not be blamed and that everything will work out for good. Especially, everyone in the company was supposed to get distributions from the funds.
When we had the meeting with Deacon Geri, I prayed about it. At this time, I was also preparing my savings for school and I knew that except God himself did a miracle I would not be able to reach my target funding goal for the school.
After that meeting, I decided to sow all my savings for the school. I pushed myself to give it all and I decided to trust God. I finally sowed the seed during NEA with our President, Pastor Ekele Uhiara. The school was getting closer but I still maintained my confession.
A few weeks ago, the company agreed to pay us $2Million. Faithful God!! Also last week, we had our staff review meetings in the office and my boss promoted me to a management role, my salary scale has doubled (completely hedged against Naira fluctuations) and I got a bonus 10 times the seed I sowed, the highest distribution in the company. Lastly, my boss took the blame for the mistake that was made.
I recall the days, I used to pray about the requests I made to my boss and how in spite of all the work I did and how much effort I put into work, he would turn down my requests for promotion or salary increase. I decided late last year not to ask anything and just trust God and continue to do great work regardless. During these times, I also learned that it was important to sow in the currency you want to get. Sometimes I change money to dollars and sow, just because I don’t want to be subject to the Naira.
I learned this from something Sis Uzzo, our DG Finance shared about sowing a tithe/ seed of what you want to want to get. Even down to my offerings in church and special seeds in meeting with our dear man of God, Pastor Chris, I would ensure I give in dollars as much as possible.
When Pastor said, “that by Q1 this year, you will have done what you did all through 2019”. I believed and trusted even though I didn’t know how it would happen.
This is my story. In Q1 of this year, I have surpassed my entire giving for 2019.
I know God is doing so much more in my life and I am truly grateful to be blessed by our faith-filled President Pastor Ekele Uhiara who pushes us to strive for the best, my very own Deacon Geri Roberts whose constant words of encouragement always blesses, my amazing Governor Bro Uche Okorie whose words of prayer never fail and members of the Soteria Care Group of the Benchmark Haven whose love is unending and prayers work without fail. God continually proves himself so true, so just, so kind and faithful.
Glory!!!
Kind Regards
